Made in response to time spent outdoors digging in the earth, moving rocks, germinating seeds, observing plants and insects; these paintings reference the natural world, textile design, decoration, and pattern. I work on loose, unprimed muslin, which undulates like a landscape, the surface of water, or a leaf. Paint-soaked fabric is folded to self-print an area. Parts of paintings are sewn together or smaller pieces are added to expand the paintings and increase the physicality of the work.
